Axxela Limited is a subsidiary of Glover Gas & Power B.V., a portfolio venture co-owned by Helios Investment Partners LLP (UK) and Sojitz Corporation (Japan). We are currently pursuing a growth strategy aimed at doubling our investments across the Oil and gas market in Africa. Our vision is to power Africa with innovative energy solutions. We have developed over 360km of gas pipeline networks in Nigeria, and we are currently delivering natural gas to over 200 industrial and commercial consumers in Nigerian and West African markets in addition to projects currently under maturation in subsectors such as Gas Distribution, Power Generation, Gas Processing, and other Energy Solutions.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategy and Planning Manager to join us. As the Strategy and Planning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s strategic direction, driving growth, and ensuring operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a leading organization in the energy sector.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the company’s strategic plans, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and market dynamics.
• Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine the company’s long-term vision, mission, and goals.
• Lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, including new market entry, product diversification, and business expansion.
• Drive the annual business planning process, including goal setting, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and provide regular reports to senior management.
• Identify, assess, and develop opportunities for enhancing the company’s competitive position and driving business growth via strategic partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, and divestments.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to identify potential opportunities or threats to the business.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of strategists and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• MBA from a reputable Business School and/or Professional Certification (such as CFA and CIMA) will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 10 years of functional experience in corporate strategic planning, business optimisation, financial advisory, consulting practice, or related fields.
• Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of the gas and power industry, including market dynamics, trends, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret complex data and make informed strategic recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, translating vision into actionable goals and initiatives.
• Proficient in using strategic planning tools and methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive business plans, execute strategic plans, and translate vision into actionable goals and initiatives.
• Must possess advanced financial modeling skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
