Company Brief/Aspirations:

Axxela Limited is a subsidiary of Glover Gas & Power B.V., a portfolio venture co-owned by Helios Investment Partners LLP (UK) and Sojitz Corporation (Japan). We are currently pursuing a growth strategy aimed at doubling our investments across the Oil & Gas market in Africa. Our vision is to power Africa with innovative energy solutions. We have developed about 350km of gas pipeline networks in Nigeria, and we are currently delivering natural gas to over 200 industrial and commercial consumers in Nigerian and West African markets in addition to projects currently under maturation in subsectors such as Gas Distribution, Power Generation, Gas Processing, and other Energy Solutions.

We are looking to engage a Strategy and Planning Officer to assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategic and business plans for Axxela. The incumbent supports the Strategy and Planning Manager in carrying out Axxela’s strategy, planning, and corporate performance monitoring function.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the development of the organization’s strategic plan, including long-term and annual views.
• Support the Strategy and Planning Manager in coordinating business planning, goal setting and forecasting, initiative prioritization, and performance tracking and reporting across the organization.
• Monitor and analyse market trends relating to the organization’s business and overall strategy.
• Provide support and insight into significant organizational changes (e.g., the shift in strategic focus, mergers, and acquisitions).
• Coordinate annual corporate retreats and brainstorming sessions on specific company initiatives.
• Facilitate collaborative development of cross-asset strategies, initiatives, and contingency plans.
• Develop business proposals, operational business requirements, and business plans per asset as well as ensure successful execution of the initiatives created, as required.
• Develop and implement strategies for generating incremental value for the company.
• Develop business/investment cases for new frontier opportunities and other strategic opportunities.

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum of 2:2 in Accounting, Finance, or Economics from a reputable university
• 5 – 7 years of relevant work experience in corporate development and strategic planning, business development, budgeting, performance reporting, and other related functions of a reputable organisation or consulting firm will be an advantage
• Master of Business Administration (MBA) will be an advantage.
