Company Brief/Aspirations:

Axxela Limited is a subsidiary of Glover Gas & Power B.V., a portfolio venture co-owned by Helios Investment Partners LLP (UK) and Sojitz Corporation (Japan). We are currently pursuing a growth strategy aimed at scaling our current $500m investments across the Oil & Gas market in Africa. Our vision is to power Africa with innovative energy solutions. We have developed over 300km of gas pipeline networks in Nigeria, and we are currently delivering natural gas to about 180 industrial and commercial consumers in Nigerian and West African markets in addition to projects currently under maturation in subsectors such as Gas Distribution, Power Generation, Gas Processing, and other Energy Solutions.

The Business Development Supervisor role is responsible for driving business growth by championing new business opportunities, capital investment initiatives, operational improvements, and strategic alliances related to our Gas & Power sector objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates techno-commercially viable Gas & Power solutions and matures into profitable businesses.
  • Facilitates Gas & Power-related ideation and undertakes business development/maturation efforts to convert to a profitable business.
  • Identifies changes in the regulatory, economic, and business environment that may potentially present opportunities for Axxela to exploit or threats to mitigate in the energy sector
  • Actively develops networks with OEMs, service providers, regulators, and other stakeholders and deploys same to gain insights, competitive advantage, and win profitable deals for Axxela
  • Undertakes and manages the development of financial models and analytical frameworks to facilitate opportunity development, strategic planning, and support management decisions
  • Performs other assigned duties as delegated from time to time to assure the achievement of corporate objectives and business plans.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years work experience, at least 4 of which must have been in a similar role or Engineering Consulting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Management Consulting, or Corporate Finance within a reputable and structured business environment, preferably in the Power, Oil & Gas or general Energy industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage economic/financial models and other complex analyses in Excel and present results to management for decision-making.
  • Cognate experience in gas production, processing, transportation, and marketing areas as well as Power generation and distribution. Experience must include the technical, operational, and commercial aspects of natural gas and power assets including the economic evaluation of such assets plus the related energy transactions. Hands-on exposure to ideation, maturation, and origination of energy deals is a core requirement.
  • Minimum second-class lower degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or other relevant disciplines
  • Additional relevant qualifications such as CFA, ACCA, and Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
